We are very proud to call Heather Davis the August Athlete of the Month! Over the course of the year since becoming a member, Heather has taken on nutrition challenges, participated in our coaches internship, taken strides in her personal fitness journey and continues to learn and take on her passion for CrossFit and Nutrition!
When did you first start training at NNCF and how many days a week do you train?
I started training NNCF back in March of 2018 and I liked it so much my husband and step-daughter started as well. I train anywhere from 4-6 days a week depending on my work schedule or soreness.
Tell us about your sports/fitness background:
I was always an active kid, and I have an extensive background in horseback riding but was never a “team sports” gal. As I got older and went to college I enjoyed the occasional treadmill or elliptical workout which was totally boring and probably the reason why I was never a cardio bunny.
What was your first CrossFit workout and how did it go?
When lilith lahaie finally talked me into going my first workout was a pick your weakness workout, we did power cleans and knees to chest, I ripped my hands, sweated more than I ever sweated before and I was immediately hooked.
I really like deadlifts, rowing and the bike. I’m not sure if there is a name for that. I could look it up I guess.
Least Favorite Workout:
I die a little bit inside every time I see the word burpees.
Why do you love North Naples CrossFit?
NNCF is all about community. I also like that the coaches practice what they preach, and you know they love their jobs just by watching them interact with everyone.
Favorite NNCF moment?
Beating Kelly Clark at deadlifts, for once I beat her at something. Just kidding, I love watching Chloe my step-daughter beat me. She does it almost daily. So I guess I have a lot of favorite moments and not just one.
