The encouragement that the members give each other, you never feel like you are alone in the challenge of completing a WOD.
When did you first start training at NNCF and how many days a week do you train?
I started at NNCF in February 2018. I work out three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Always 6:30 pm, because that is the best class. Once in a while getting in a weekend class.
Tell us about your sports/fitness background:
My main sport growing up was swimming. I started swimming when I was 5 and continued through my junior year in high school. I did participated in track, in middle school and a couple of years in high school.
What was your first CrossFit workout and how did it go?
I don’t remember what the work out was, but I do remember that I didn’t come close to finishing and I thought that I would never be able to finish any CrossFit workout. That feeling went away on work out #14. I tell everyone I talk to about CrossFit that if you are going to try it, you have to do at least 15 workouts before you decide if you like it. The first 14 are the hardest.
FRAN is my favorite. My 19th CrossFit workout was the first time it did Fran. Being new I was a little intimidated to have a partner, but I found out more about the CrossFit community doing a partner workout. I was paired with Brian Estes. He was great! If it wasn’t for Brian I would have quit after the first 21. Brian did a great job encouraging me to keep moving and not to worry about the time, just finish. My time was 13:59.

Why do you love North Naples CrossFit?
I have been active and worked out at a gym, but nothing compares to the experience of NNCF. The constant and consistent instructions, and the encouragement given by the coaches during every workout is unmatched. I have talked with people about their CrossFit experience at other boxes and none of them compare to what we get a NNCF. Along with the coaches I love the members at NNCF. What a great group of people! Again, the encouragement that the members give each other, you never feel like you are alone in the challenge of completing a WOD. I love the NNCF Community.
Favorite NNCF moment?
The day my wife told me that she was all in! Having a partner who supports you in working to be healthier is a big help. Having a partner who works out with you, makes changes in eating habits including participating in nutrition challenges, who isn’t embarrassed to participate in the Fitness Festival, or who not afraid to do the Open is unmeasurable!
